JVP
pseudo patriotism exposed -
By Srilal D.Perera Melbourne
The JVP’s indirect support for terrorist leader Prabakaran and treacherous leader Ranil Wickremasinghe, shows very clearly their stand on national issues which is not far removed from the UNP & TNA agenda. This is not the first time JVP has taken sides with traitors like Ranil W. In the year 2000, the JVP’s best pal was the bankrupt separatist traitor Wickramababahu Karunaratne. They both fought for the establishment of Prabhakaran’s dream Elam. After the birth of patriotic national forces like Sihala Urumaya which is now Jathika Hela Urumaya, JVP leaders realised that they will not survive for long in the political arena if they don’t wear a different mask. So they removed the red masks temporary and wore a patriotic mask to hoodwink the masses. To give a human face to their bogus patriotism, they very shrewdly hired former patriots like Dr. Gunadasa Amarasekera, Ven. Elle Gunawansa etc, and formed the Patriotic National Movement. Those former nationalist had to dance according to the tune of the JVP hierarchy. They did not stop from there. JVP infiltrated to Manel Mal Viyaparaya which was formed by a prominent patriot S. L. Gunasekera. Small JVP groups who are working or residing overseas have also collected money for this movement. It is time to investigate whether that money collected by JVPers in the name of our valiant soldiers went to the Manel Mal Viyaparaya fund or the JVP party coffers. True patriots never try to cripple a government when such government is genuinely fighting to defeat the main threat to our country. We have to identify the major obstacle which prevented the development of our country for the last two decades and that is terrorism. When terrorism has become a major threat and external evil forces including western powers are trying to destabilise our country, it is the duty of all Sri Lankans to rally around and support the government to defeat the common enemy. The Rajapaksa government may have malpractices, irregularities and inappropriate dealings in the system. You can not expect everything to be perfect within two years in power when there is extreme pressure from local traitors and the international community. The JVP has fulfiled the requirements of western powers to some extent by destroying two generations of youth, public properties & assets in the name of their so called socialist revolution. Now they are doing the same thing by other means. Behind the democratic and patriotic label, the JVP is continuing the destruction, by organising strikes to paralyse the economy and education system in the country. They pave the way to provide oxygen to Prabhakaran at this crucial juncture. At the same time if there is a victory achieved by our forces, JVP leaders are at the forefront to give media statements praising them. But the very next day they will get back to their normal behaviour pulling the leg of Rajapakse government. These bogus patriots should be marginalised. Do JVP leaders know anything other than sabotage, disruption and thuggery? Have they got any brains? Look at their four demands put to the Rajapakse government before the budget vote. Have those demands got any relevance to the budget proposals? How dare JVP leaders support Ranil Wickremesinghe and Prabhakaran to defeat the budget? Now Ranil Wickremesinghe has become the best pal of the JVP union leader Lal Kantha. Lal Kantha Sahodaraya hasn’t seen a cleaner man than Ranil. He is always praising Ranil as a clean politician while accusing Mahinda Rajapaksa government of corruption. Before pointing a finger at others, the JVP must remember the crimes they have committed in the past. What happened to the accumulated wealth that the JVP earned by killing, looting and robbing banks in the late 1980s? That is more serious than corruption. Where is that money now? How did the JVP leader Somawansa Amarasinghe escape to London? After the Ranil Winckremesinghe government came into power in 2001, the UNP exposed JVP criminal activities. But, now they are dead silent. Why? the present government must appoint a committee to investigate and put those criminals behind bars. The government must also take the necessary steps to recover the looted money from the JVP. It is the duty of the government to educate the rural masses before JVP opportunists put them into trouble. The government must not allow our youth to fall into the trap of the JVP again. We want our youth to prosper and not become victims of JVP thugs. Therefore, the government must directly communicate with the youth and address the issues that concern them and redress their grievances that the JVP exploit to further its sinister objectives.
